COMMUNITY PLAN

The Refuge at Ravenel is designed as a “conservation community”- an intimate neighborhood with single-family home sites. Each home sits on a heavily wooded lot with marsh, pond, or wooded views. Homes are in the “low country” style, and the landscaping uses native plants to complement the natural surroundings.

LOCATION

The Refuge is located off U.S. Highway 17 South and Highway 165. From Highway 17, take a right on 165, go right on Old Jacksonborough Road and The Refuge is a mile on your left.

AMENITIES

As a conservation community, The Refuge was created to provide a serene, nature-oriented environment for its residents, with on-property amenities - such as green space and ponds- designed to intergrate with the surroundings. However, within a short distance from our community, recreational facilities for a more active lifestyle abound, including golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, boat docks and parks.

ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW GUIDELINES

To preserve the unique charachter of The Refuge, building guidelines will be enforced by an architectural review board governing all homes, custom and speculative.

PREFERRED BUILDER PROGRAM

The developers of The Refuge have worked with excellent area custom home builders and have generated a preferred builder list, which will be provided upon request.

HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

A Homeowner’s Association featuring restrictive covenants and annual dues will be provided for the community. All property owners will be required to participate.

UTILITIES

The Refuge features underground utilites. Electricity is provided by Berkeley County. Each property will have its own well and septic system. A new alternative environmental septic system has been researched by the developer and approved by DHEC. Information will be provided upon request.
